Reinforce Interfaith support for Religious Liberty
- The American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) serves in coalition with other faith-based nonprofits to support plaintiffs in religious liberty cases through joint Amicus Briefs filed before the Federal Courts and the US Supreme Court. The purpose of our Amicus Briefs is to highlight –
- Religious liberty is not a privilege granted to one religion, but a fundamental right secured by the First Amendment of the US Constitution for all religions.
- The legal principle of separation of “Church and State” claimed in past case precedents is inapplicable where the government does not favor one religion over another.
- Diverse religious communities in America — despite doctrinal differences, stand united in exercising religious speech, both in private and in public spaces.
- Draws on historical references where interfaith cooperation has protected minority religious faiths, such as Hindus and Jews, from persecution and the interfaith defense of First Amendment protections act as a force multiplier for shared values.

Conduct meetings and briefings with Federal and State Political Leaders
The American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) believes that policy advocacy works best when grassroots voices, expert analysis, and political engagement align toward a common policy goal. To this end, AHJC regularly conducts meetings and briefings with both State and Federal political leaders to advocate for:
- Policy adoption or reform.
- Increased political awareness and accountability.
- Long-term systemic change.
Interfaith Dialogue
The American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) believes that Interfaith dialogue among people of different faith traditions (and sometimes those of no faith) will build understanding, reduce conflict, and foster cooperation. To this end, AHJC regularly conducts meetings with various faith-based nonprofits with the following goals:
- Build trust between faith communities.
- Counter ignorance and stereotypes through structured dialogue and cultural exchange.
- Unite diverse faith leaders on shared causes.
- Provide platforms for interfaith leaders to engage policymakers, media, and the public.
Regulatory and Legislative advocacy before US Congress and Federal Agencies
The American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) represents a diverse array of concerns before the US Congress and Federal Agencies.
Our priority legislative and regulatory advocacy agenda include, among others, countering Hindu hate and Antisemitism, transnational Islamist terrorism, and government infringement of religious liberties, fundamental civil rights and Constitutional equal rights protections, discriminatory DEI practices in employment and in academia. To this end, AHJC conducts the following:
1. Presentation of issue analysis and briefing documents to US Congress, federal agencies, and State lawmakers.
2. Submission of expert testimony before Congressional hearings.
3. Expand and strengthen faith-based political coalitions.
4. Propose draft language in Federal agency rulemaking, Congressional legislation and resolutions.
