The Board of the American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) is composed of dedicated leaders from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to justice, education, and interfaith solidarity. United by a common goal of combating Hinduphobia and antisemitism, our board members bring a wealth of experience in advocacy, academia, public service, and community engagement. Together, they guide the mission and vision of AHJC, fostering understanding, standing up to hate, and building bridges between communities.
Arthur Kapoor, Chairman
Arthur Kapoor is a creative and serial entrepreneur that has spent the last 35 years building financial, clinical and operational platforms to solve the most perplexing challenges across several industries.
Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and an MBA from Rutgers University, Kapoor pioneered technology that helped business executives visualize data in new and different ways, creating market leadership and differentiation for the clients he served. In 1986, he co-founded Dimensions Office Inc in graduate school to create Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs for the furniture industry, pioneering the concept of visualizing facilities management floor plans with office furniture, which was acquired by a leading furniture manufacturer.
In 1991, Kapoor entered the healthcare arena by founding Med-Link Technologies, which became the fastest growing healthcare claims clearinghouse in the US; Med-Link was subsequently acquired by Emdeon now Change Healthcare. Med- Link had the innovative technology of capturing Healthcare Claims in any format from any Practice Management System using (AI) Artificial Intelligence.
In 1997, Kapoor founded Infotech Global, Inc. a software development company that uses agile methodologies to build applications for its clients, offering a wide range of services across the entire software application lifecycle. Infotech Global still provides boutique software development for major corporations internationally.
Kapoor returned his focus to healthcare in 2005, after noting the continued challenges faced by providers in accessing and using data to drive informed patient care. Kapoor was an early pioneer in interoperability and health information exchange, providing the infrastructure for the New Jersey Health Information Network. In 2012, he co-founded HealthEC to enable healthcare organizations to manage their population’s health by aggregating information from all sources and translating that knowledge into action. Later Centene Corp. and Labcorp acquired a majority interest in HealthEC.
Kapoor is also a passionate philanthropist. He founded Akluyva Foundation in 2010, and continues to ensure that almost 400 orphaned Indian children are provided with food, clothing, education and medical care. In 2011, Kapoor was knighted by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta for his charitable work around the world.
Kapoor remains active in academia as well, serving as the Co-Executive Vice Chair, Board of Overseers: Membership, for the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is an Executive Roundtable Member of the Republican Governors Association and contributes to many Republican candidates in Gubernatorial, local and federal races. He serves as Board member of NJ Healthcare Financing Administration, and as a Board Trustee of Durga Mandir in Kendall Park NJ.
Dr. Munr Kazmir, Vice ChairmanM
Dr. Munr Kazmir is a leading Jewish leader who is recognized for his philanthropy and political acumen. In 1984, Dr. Kazmir arrived in the United States where he successfully completed his Internal Medicine internship at the White Plains Hospital/Montefiore Medical Center in 1986. He went on to complete additional medical studies in 1988 at Methodist Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his externship in Houston, Dr. Kazmir was recognized for being the lead fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Fund at the Methodist Hospital of Houston. In 1989 after completing his externship, Dr. Kazmir’s first American entrepreneurial and philanthropic initiatives lead him to develop a health care employment agency, which provides medical staffing to hospitals in the metropolitan area and provides free medical services to needy residents within the area. He continues his quest to ensure that indigents, homeless, HIV patients, and neglected children receive the appropriate medical care they deserve.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Kazmir and John Allison co-founded the American International School System (AISS)-the most modern state-of-the-art school in the history of Pakistan. AISS brings top-quality American based education to the underprivileged children in neglected regions. Over the years he has served on a number of different boards including: the Board of Governors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, American Jewish Congress, Chabad House, etc… Dr. Kazmir was also appointed to the position of Commissioner of the New Jersey Lottery Commission by the 56th Governor of NJ, Phil Murphy. He was also a former member of: the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPC), the Republican Leadership Council, GOPAC, Republican Regents, Board of Trustees of Liberty Health Systems and former Chairman of Liberty Health Systems Foundation, former Trustee of the Hackensack University Hospital Foundation, former Chairman of the Board of the Middle East Media Research Institution (MEMRI), and former Chairman of NATPAC (Metropolitan Area). Today, Dr. Kazmir maintains cooperative, bipartisan relationships with many members of the United States Congress, Senate, and the Nation’s Governors and is very active in promoting the concept of democratic government in third world countries and the Middle East. He remains committed to fostering and supporting women’s rights, as well as human rights causes throughout the world.

Rajiv Malhotra has lived in the USA for 55 years, and is a renowned Hindu American author, public intellectual, and founder of the Infinity Foundation in Princeton, USA. Initially trained in physics and computer science with a specialization in artificial intelligence, he had a successful corporate career and then became a tech entrepreneur launching 20 startups in different parts of the world. In the 1990s, he took early retirement to devote his full time to civilizational research for enriching America. As part of this, for over three decades, Malhotra has critically examined the representation of Hinduism in academia, media, and public discourse, and pioneered the study of biases against Hinduism. He developed a robust framework for understanding and countering Hinduphobia, which he has framed as a deep-rooted system similar to Antisemitism. He is the architect of a unique School of Thought that integrates Hindu perspectives with contemporary global issues. Malhotra has authored more than twenty influential books that have become essential resources for scholars and changemakers worldwide. His work has helped redefine interfaith and civilizational dialogues. Through Infinity Foundation, he mentors a new generation of Hindu scholars.
Rakesh Patel, Trustee
Rakesh Patel is an attorney and partner at a prominent law firm in Washington, D.C. He brings deep legal expertise and a distinguished record of public service, having previously served in several senior management roles at the Federal Communications Commission’s Enforcement Bureau, including as Deputy Bureau Chief. Prior to that, he was Chief of the Criminal Division in the Maryland Attorney General’s Office.
Rakesh is actively involved in community and interfaith engagement. He is a devoted member of the BAPS Temple, where he volunteers in various initiatives, including community service and government outreach.
He is married and has two children—a 24-year-old son and a 20-year-old daughter.
